Mars 'steroscopic' view was created by jmckeon

View of Mars from Sunday night, (a few hours after getting back from Cosmos) two images taken 25 minutes apart.
Scope is an 8" SCT and the camera is an ASI120MM using RGB filters.

Mars is at opposition this week. Here's hoping for a few more clear nights!

It is amazing how much Mars spins on its axis in a mere 25 minutes. Extraordinary video -thanks, John.

Let us not forget that Mars is at opposition tonight. However, it is important to note that it is only closest in distance to the Earth next Monday!! We can enjoy its considerable size for a few days yet in our telescopes.

What a marvellous solar system we live in.

Aubrey.
