Deep sky astrophotos without tracking was created by johnomahony
I found some old photos that I took almost two years ago when I got my Sigma 50mm F1.4 lens and 7D. I did not have my trusty Polarie in those days. These pictures were taken on a static camera tripod and are stacks of 10 second exposures. I have reprocessed them using some new tools. I am amazed what you can pick out with such short exposures (ISO 1600) from a semi-dark site. They are a bit overstretched. I used 15-20 frames for each shot
