An Invitation!
This year the Irish Astronomical Society has once again organised a special free event to mark the festive season for amateur astronomers in Dunsink Observatory at 8pm on Friday the 15th December.

This year Emer Reynolds, multi-award winning documentary director and feature film editor talks about her wonderful film on Voyager, "The Farthest". She will show some clips from the film and invites questions from the audience in a question and answer session.

The talk will be followed by an astronomy quiz complete with prizes.

Light refreshments will be available, with mince pies and plenty of chat before a warm log fire.

The night is for amateur astronomers and their friends. The IAS would specially like to extend the invitation to our many friends in IFAS and in the various astronomy clubs. Most of all it is hoped this event will be another opportunity for like-minded people to meet old friends and make new ones, and we look forward to seeing you there.

Valerie and I had a lovely time at Dunsink on Friday night.
It was great to meet Emer Reynolds and to see some of her film.
It was also a dream come through to see the Orion Nebula in the 12" refractor.

Aubrey.
