We we basically had the highest possible position of the Sun from our latitude ... cool!
Had I known that I'd have been sure to nip out at 12:26 for a look

Not only was the 21st June the longest day but it was (very) High Noon!, with the solstice at 12:26 UT and local noon in Dublin also at 12:26 UT!
