Frank, why are your 2 posts empty.

To be honest, to me it looked like the astrophoto competition died out due to lack of submissions..

Possibly because the qualifications for entry were ramped up? It all points in the same direction - a desire by those in charge to control the board membership.

Well guys, it's Judgement Day - and the verdict is that the controlling approach doesn't work!

I can never remember any images being rubbished on this site but I always respected the fact that this was one of the few forums where people were not afraid to offer constructive critism. This helped me a hell of a lot to improve on my images.

Its a lot better than constantly getting comments like "Superb image mate", "Another great capture" etc especially when the image may have a huge vignetting gradient,a colour bias due to LP or focus issues.

The wealth of knowledge that members of this site have is unsurpassed on any forum I have been on and that will continue despite issues around the sites layout & functions. Its also the only central site which all clubs participate in and should therefore cater equally to all aspects of astonomical intersets.

Wasn't there a stipulation that images had to be taken in the previous month - whatever the weather? A sure way to cut down on contributions.
