Yet another Saturn was created by TrevorDurity
Tried Saturn tonight with the NexImage and 90mm Megrez @ f52!!!!

NexImage + Megrez 90FD APO
5x Powermate + the lens from a 2x Barlow (works out about 7.5x I think)
1500 frames stacked in Registax.

Had to put Gamma up to about 30% to get enough signal.

Kinda foggy here but luckily it seemed to stay very close to the ground so probably only shooting through a tiny amount.

Fantastic seeing though. No problem seeing Cassini visually with a 5mm EP.

Nice one Trev,
Its a tiny bit faint, was it difficult to get a bright image using that aperture and the powermate ? all the same, a good result.

Yet another Saturn?

You can never have enough of Saturn.

Fantastic image.

Absolutely wonderful Trevor, colours and all. One gripe if I may - it looks as though it was placed on the black background? The edges are jagged that make it lok like this!

Cheers all.

Woops, you're right Seanie. Didn't notice that on my notebook monitor. I used a paint bucket over the background. I should still have the original though.

Ahem: Which Cassini. There are TWO up there you know!!!

erm, the bigger one :D Still awaiting delivery of my Webb telescope clone to catch the other

bit faint, was it difficult to get a bright image using that aperture and the powermate

It was alright. Usually I get by with a gain of 50% and gamma 0 but with the additional magnification from the barlow head I had to put up Brightness to 80% & Gamma to 30%. Gain was still about 50% I think.
It was alot dimmer than that originally, Levels in PS brought it out a bit. I'll try and brighten it a bit more.

You can never have enough of Saturn

That's for sure. I stared at it for ages last night before capturing the image. Always mesmerising.

Interesting to note that there's little increase in detail from just using the powermate, just an increase in scale. I guess this is a function of aperture though.
