More "lights in the sky" was created by Hyperion
At approx 05.03 on 7th March I was heading off to college We had a beautiful clear sky and spotted a dim satellite crossing the zenith. Suddenly a quick blue flash to my rear which would have been almost due north. We are very rural so very little ligh pollution etc. Could this have been an iridium flare? I dont think it was from the object I saw. I always check HA for this type of event.
Any offers?

Was it a very sudden flash or a more long and drawn out pulse?

Did it cast shadown?

Might have been an iridium flare or possibly a fast meteor.

It was very sudden the same type of thing you get with lightening, but there was not a cloud to be seen, although i heard since there was a lightening storm in Monaghan Town at about 3.30pm (this was at 5.00am). It was far to transparent a sky for electrical storms.
Dont know guys???
