Lidl selling Meade 10x50 Binoculars for 19:99 was created by Patch
Dropped through the letter box yesterday, Lidl's sometimes bizarre 'mini brochure/newspaper' of upcoming offers. Amidst the fishing gear was a set of the above binoculars for €19:99. I know they sold binoculars/telescopes before and people seem happy with them. Does this sound like good value to anyone? Coz it does to me!(Available from 2nd May - Are these offers ever available before the dates mentioned in the brochure?)

Hi Patch,
thanks for the heads-up, and welcome to the boards!
I would bet that they are a slightly more superior binoculars due to the Meade badge, than to some of the previous binos they have had with dodgy names like Optus, Optron etc etc.
For the sake of parting with a blue and white piece of paper, you've nothing to loose really!
Seanie.

I have a pair of Olympus 35mm binoculars (variable zoom 8-20). Would it be worthwhile buying 50mm ones? Would there be a huge amount of difference?

I can't see the binoculars on the website
However this fishing stool might be handy for those little breaks or just to sit down while sketching etc.

At telescopehouse.co.uk they are also selling 10x50
Meade Binos
. These are probably the same ones.
I've also checked the Lidl websites (the Irish, Northern Irish & UK) and don't see them anywhere either.... Are they selling them or is it just a mis-print?
P.S. Anyone notice that they appear to have blue coatings and not ruby coloured? I know the subject of these blue coatings came up before here on binos, but did anyone find out anything about them?

Personally I think they would, larger field of view and more light gathering. Also, fixed optics tend to be better than zoom. Just my opinion though, and for €19.99, well what the hell!I have a pair of Olympus 35mm binoculars (variable zoom 8-20). Would it be worthwhile buying 50mm ones? Just in response, I didn't see the binoculars on the Lidl website, it was on the Brochure / Flyer thingy they drop through the letterbox every week. There among the Fishing rods top left page 4. Sounds like a good deal. I think I'll buy if I can get into the shop past all the guys in waders..
