Jellyfish were the most advanced life-forms then.

That's pretty cool ... still would have been nicer if they'd found a great big round hole at the bottom of a lake or something ... or even a great big round hole that now is a lake but that's really the crater .... I think I just want something to look at!

The sheer timescale involved meand that finding a neat round hole is very unlikely indeed Bart.

I'm surprised that any trace of the impact survived at all.

When you consider that Ireland was still joined to America about 120 million years ago and this projectile hit the earth TEN TIMES farther back in time.

Actually no actual crater has been found, just some evidence for an ancient impact. It would be unusual for such a crater (1 Billion years old) to be found, as there is very little left of the earths surface of that age still extant,
