Can you handle more moon shots?

Here's a couple from Saturday night. First the moon and Jupiter conjunction, here using multiple exposures to bring out Jupiter's moons and stars to about mag 7.

With the moon sitting just on the top of fast moving cloud it gave the impression of the moon racing along burning rubber.

Excellent images John. Absolutely fabulous!
Mind me asking how you managed exposures for image 1?

Thanks Michael.

I got the moon exposure right first and then just took a series of shots at progressively slower shutter speeds, ranging from 1/160 to 4 seconds.

John , those are beautiful shots, they really represent what you would actually see through a pair of binoculars, did you stack the different exposures in regisatx? or otherwise?

Cool images!

The one with Jupiters moons pointing down at the mood is especially cool!

Keith, I used photoshop to blend the exposures using stacked and masked layers. I really wanted a view that you could see by eye, which was the moon sitting on the clouds with Jupiter just above. It was only when I saw the shots later that I took it further by adding stars and Jupiter's moons. I don't have any tracking so I couldn't do any really long exposures to bring out the dimmer stars that were less then mag 7.
