Summer Milkyway from Ireland was created by Keith g
Hi All, I was just looking at Anthony's shot of the Summer Milkyway, this is my comparison taken on the same night, with the same equipment & lens :)
from sea level, and what a difference there is!!

Mine was taken under very humid and murky skies (93% humidity), and the sea was very calm for Ireland, it was so calm in fact that you can see reflections of the brightest stars, and even a hint of the galactic centre on the water 8)

By the way Anthony, The weather here in Ireland has been similar to Greece in the last few days, very hot and sticky. This is not the best shot of the milkyway, but i'm just showing as a comparison. I'll have some more shots over the coming few days...

Details:
Location: Annestown, Co.Waterford, Ireland - Sea Level
Date: 9th July 2005
Camera: Canon 300D, 18-55 ef-s lens at 18mm, f4
ISO 400
Exposure: 3 minutes, Piggybacked C8
Processing: Slight adjustment in PS7, levels

Still a super shot, and guaranteed Irish :D

(No offence Anthony - you know how hard we struggle here to get a clear night...!)

Cheers

Keith,

All thumbs up! I really like the photo and the immediate foreground. I also have my sights on revisiting the Milky Way with a "wet" foreground!
