Dave,

I may be preaching to the wise on this but if you know the image scale with the camera, ie arcsec per pixel, then you can measure the angular distance from an image and use this with the published distance to the object in the small angle formula

Hi Kieran,
For my SCT setup its even more painful then that as the arc second per pixel is not a constant, it changes depending on the distance between the back of the scope and the camera, the only way I'd be able to figure the FOV of the image is to open starrynight for that FOV and measure it, I'll get around to doing that during the week maybe.
