That's fantastic! It really shows just how dynamic this object is.

Imagine sitting at the scope doing an imaging run on this when it starts to bloom up :o . You would be freaking out, checking focus, dew build up etc.

I've just come in after a quick check and it seems bigger than last night though not brighter, I think it's becoming more diffuse. Also, I thought I could detect some redness in the lower part, and more green in the top - not chromatic abberation in the optics by the way, I thought I saw some red naked eye before running in for the binos. Very fast moving cloud out there is allowing occasional seeing.

Well, I always thought those that left a warm bed to go observing were a little bit odd, but when I saw the Moon shining through the window at 5:45 this morning I had to go and get up. The sky was already brightening but the comet was still bright.
This is the result of some attempt at imaging.

This is the same equipment, settings and processing, as the earlier image taken on the 27th below so the difference in size from the image taken earlier is Real! I also think I can see a hint of a jet at the 7 o'clock position??

Both images were taken through my Dobsonisan so up is up and not north, if you know what I mean, so with 9 hours rotation... 135 degrees??? it is too early for those calculations.
Now is there any way I can sneak back to bed...
