More a photographic one it seems, picked up a faint display on the camera from the house. Some nice pics floating about from Donegal, Meath and the north coast up here.

Took a quick spin up Tree Rock to look out over Dublin bay about 12:30. I was being wildly optimistic and really didnt expect much. There was a very very faint line of green glow between the light haze and the darker sky above but its so faint that even in photoshop its difficult to make it stand out.
Went up the sally gap then but had to turn back as the road was a sheet of ice in places and i wasnt in the mood for getting ditched or crashing on new years day!
Have a report from much Darker, clearer skies in Roscommon also that very little was visible to the naked eye, at least around 12:30am.

We saw a faint green glow here in East Cavan at midnight last night , a nice way to bring in the new year
