The weather in Kildare played ball until midnight. It started off with the 'monster took a bite out of the Moon' effect that kids love. At 23:20 (mid-eclipse) I made it an L1 on the Danjon scale (with the naked eye). At midnight a mixture of broken cloud and haze began to interfere with the show.

I also thought it looked a little blue, I was talking to Conn Buckley over the phone and he also said it. I think this was the edge of the moon nearest the edge of the umbra. I also got the effect in a number of images.
