Corona Virus in Ireland was created by flt158

I trust you are all very well here on www.irishastronomy.org

My wife and I know 2 sisters who live in Dublin.
One of them is deaf and comes to our church every Sunday, that is when it's open. Right now it's not of course.
However her sister who does not attend our meetings is in St. James' Hospital with the dreaded Corona Virus in intensive care.
As both ladies are in their seventy's we are greatly concerned for their well being.

So let's keep washing our hands.
When we are outside having a walk, we must keep the 2 metre distance at all times. I know this is extremely difficult to maintain.
These are the only pieces of advice I can give.

Add some more, please, if you can think of any.

Keep well,

Aubrey.

Well said Aubrey, for those who like the science behind social distancing, I think this is a good link:

So sad as to what is happening right now folks, remember too to wash all your clothes at 60*C.

I also take Vitamin C 500mg for my immune system , it really works well.

Sorry to hear about the plight of these 2 ladies, I do hope they will be ok.

It's getting real, stay safe and use common sense.

Keith..

Hello, fellow astronomers.

I have sad news regarding that lady I know who has had the Corona Virus. Se passed away today Easter Sunday 12th April.
The irony of it. A death on Resurrection Sunday.
She had been in an induced coma for 3 long weeks in the Intensive Care Unit on St. James' Hospital.
She is survived by her deaf sister and a few cousins.
It is terribly sad that the dead lady will not be having a Christian Funeral.
Although she will have a Christian burial.
My wife has been very busy contacting many many people today.

Hopefully this Corona Virus business will soon be all over by the time I turn 60 on 25th May 2020.
In the meantime, let's keep washing our hands and observing the wonderful celestial objects which were produced by our Great Creator.

Monday night promises to be very clear.

Kind regards from Aubrey.

RIP to that lady Aubrey, sad news again. All we can do is stay at home and follow all the guidelines. This is teaching all of us that we must live for now, if the sky is clear, have a look, even for 5 minutes.

I do hope her sister will be ok.

Thank you very much, Keith.

What is especially difficult to swallow is that there will be no funeral service or burial to attend.

Perhaps there will be lots of memorial services later in the year for those who have died of this terrible corona virus.

You're right, Keith!
Let's keep social distancing at all times when we are out for walks.
Keep washing our hands when we come into our homes.

Kind regards,

Aubrey.

Sorry to hear that Aubrey. I know of someone who died from the virus over the weekend and watching the funeral being streamed online and attended by just a handful of mourners is indeed surreal.

Yes indeed - sad news. Unfortunately it will not be the only sad news amongst the group before all this is over. Some people were caught unawares - but now we all know what must be done to keep ourselves and family safe. Don't let up and don't feel self conscious about doing that little bit extra to keep the virus from your own door.
