The death has been announced of Michael Collins, dubbed the lonliest man.

Farewell star voyager.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

I had never realised that his grandfather came from Dunmanway in West Cork where my grandfather is from.

My tiny connection to the Apollo programme.

Michael.

Michael Collins also had a great sense of humour, and had, as far as I can remember, was an admirer of classical music.

I am so glad I successfully observed the tiny lunar crater which is named after him.
It has a diameter of mere 2.4 kilometres.

Clear skies from Aubrey.

From the Examiner: 'His grandfather, Jeremiah Bernard Collins, emigrated from Dunmanway in Co Cork in the early 1860s to Cincinnati, Ohio in the US.'
