Damaged Binoculars

Can anybody tell me where I might get a pair of binoculars repaired.They need to be realigned-I dropped them.I am in Kilkenny.

you might not find any luck on this. For the simplicity of how bino's work, but the intricacies of taking them apart to be fixed by a professional, probably would not justify the cost of a repair. If they are a small/insignificant pair, than I would suggest taing them apart yourself and have go at fixing it - unless its spare parts you need, and not just a simple reallignment technique.

Some one is bound to correct me on this here if I am wrong!

John F may be able to answer this question better than me but here goes:
I *think* alot of binos come with collimination screws to realign the prisms. I *think* it's a simple matter of adjusting these screws until it's all aligned.
Hopefully John F will be jump in here and clarify this.

That is true that most bino's do have small adjustment screws under the rubber coating but after the manufacturing adjustment is made, the prisims are cemented in place.
If you unscrew the front lens barrel, try to see if it is either of the front prisims that are dislodged. The cement will be cracked or there will be a gap between it and the prisim.
If neither appear moved then it may be the rear prisims and I have no experiance of going there. I have realiged a front prism with success. (the headaces are gone now!) Once realigned you will need to re-cement it in place.

I have a similar problem with my binos, never got around to fixing them.
To be honest I coulnt be bothered as the coatings are also worn off the fron of the lenses, thats how old they are, might get a new pair soon.
