I know this is an old thread, but I think its interesting to see whats happened in the past 5 years on astromart,

The $12 once off payment turned out out not to be so once off after all.
Anybody can see the adds, but not the seller details or prices, for these you need to register, and wait til you see the prices !!!

$15 1 months access
$30 3 months access
$60 6 months access
$100 1 year
$500 = lifetime

Needless to say that the number of ads on their site has plummeted, only one page of reflectors, there used to be pages of that stuff!, why would you bother when you can use Cloudynights and other secondhand sites...
You'd want to be saving quiet abit of money when buying to make this worth it, and you cant see any prices unless you sign up first.
Out of curiosity, has anyone here got a live account on the site ??

I was a member of Astromart, when they introduced the original charge I dropped it, as you say, when there are sites like Cloudynights and Astrobuysell, why bother paying.

$15 for a month is a bit steep and I can't see them having many members left in the coming months.

I don't think you need to pay that Dave.
That's optional AfAIK.
That's to get your ads highlighted.
Membership is something like $12 per annum.
Value for money IMHO.
I've saved quite a few quid and sold a few items over the years thanks to Astromart.

I thought that aswell Michael,
When I tried to login, it told me my subscription has expired and showed me a link to renew, the page that came up showed me the prices above, no mention of the $12 once off fee, other threads on the web report the same thing,
tbh I was hoping I had missed something..

Same here.
I actually thought that 12$ registration fee is a good idea to get rid of scammers, but when monthly fees were introduced stopped using overall.no point spending money just to have a look when you are looking for a bargain...

I'm just paying an annual fee of something like $12 also. Due to expire next May and they certainly are not taking money from me on a monthly basis.

There were monthly sponsorship options last time I renewed, but unless you are selling a lot of gear there you wouldn't need to look at that.
