Hi all.

The initial shock from yesterdays CME (generated by the X17 flare from
Region 10486) arrived @ 0630 UT this morning. Very strong auroral
storming has been seen as far south as Arizona. We are still waiting
for the core of the CME to arrive - which means that they is a very
high possibility of strong auroral displays after dark tonight. This
has the potential to rival the March 1989 display in terms of
intensity. I run an auroral observing group on Yahoo if you want to
keep up with the latest:

Best of luck tonight!
