Fascinating stuff! But we have been here before with the "microfossils on Mars" and there is considerable skepticism about these claims. For example, see this blog:

The only way I can read into this is that NASA or the scientist in question are deliberately taking a low profile on this. Rather than wheeling out the US President to make an announcement, they want to let the evidence speak for itself in a low profile way rather than trying to pressure the scientific community to accept something they may be sceptical about.

The only way I can read into this is that NASA or the scientist in question are deliberately taking a low profile on this. Rather than wheeling out the US President to make an announcement, they want to let the evidence speak for itself in a low profile way rather than trying to pressure the scientific community to accept something they may be sceptical about.
An interesting one to watch.
Nasa have to be very careful about making unsubstantiated claims. It looks like the evidence will go through the scientific process of scrutiny before any formal claims are made. It should be an interesting read.

It doesn't feel right - credibility wise.
The material isn't published in any credible Journal and it isn't preprinted in arXiv.org . It isn't announced on a website of a recognised science institution.
