Hi all.

It has been a month since the first Skellig Star Party and I was wondering what people's most memorable event of the weekend were, astronomically speaking, meeting so many great people was easily number 1.

The sight of the Milky Way in Sagittarius was easily number 1, especially the Star Clouds around M24. NGC 258, as shown to me by Stevie is a close second, I get to pick two as I started the thread.

Well my memories of the whole thing starts way back in early [strike]June[/strike] May with my 1st thread on IFAS and a little idea that grew and grew..

My number 1 memory is: Sagittarius so high in the southern skies with the Milkyway stretching from the horizon to the Zenith..
My number 2 memory is: Playing name the song from the 80's at 3.30am and laughing our heads off well into the wee hours..
My number 3 and possibly should be on par with number 2 is: Meeting all u wonderful people who I'm sure will become my good friends..

I get to pick 3 as I started the Skelligs Star Party.. lol

Cheers Roy

Well, I don't remember much from the pub on Saturday night

But my number 1 memory is meeting everyone and having the craic ... the lovely weather over the weekend ... Saturn and Mars sinking towards the horizon in evening twilight ... the stunning scenery on the drive round by Finian's Bay going to Valentia ... seeing the tetrapod footprints on Valentia ... seeing a real live mink (and not one brownbread by the roadside) ... people not nodding off during my talk (or did some?) ... the Milky Way ... comet Jacques ... getting so dark-adapted that the sky was actually grey ... catching up with those involved with Kerry Dark Sky Park ... the quiz ... the lovely venue ... BBQ ... that band in the pub ( ) ... a big cheer when a Chinese lantern actually got off the ground ...
