Yup good looking website, technically speaking you could describe them as the Northern Hemisphere's darkest skies ;) as the Iveragh Pennisula is the only gold tier reserve in the NH!

Great news Roy, I would highly recommend that anyone who is considering a trip down to book a place, you will not be disappointed with the company, the scenery or the fantastic night skies. Frida and her staff are extremely friendly and first class, they even forgave me when I broke the glass shelf in the fridge. :blush:

With regards to the t shirt, can the back say: I went to the Skelligs Star Party and all I got were magnitude 7 skies. Or something equally amusing, whatever people can come up with.

That's not a bad idea paul, but to put that print on a
t-shirt would put the price up quite a bit :ohmy: .. Maybe we could
sort something out with that on it, like some fridge magnets

ATTENTION TO ALL THOSE ATTENDING 2015 SSP:

Due to it's exponential growth the 2015 SSP speakers will now be giving their talks in Cable O'Leary's(just a 5min walk from skellig lodge).. They have very kindly given us a room that can hold 80ppl seated and room for 20 more willing to stand.. We will also be holding our table quiz and raffle at the same venue, the talks will take place from 1pm-5.30pm Saturday afternoon(15th Aug).. So a big thank you to all in Cable O'Leary's for your support of the Skellig Star Party.

On a more sombre note, with the continued success of the SSP is there a danger that it could become too big for the area? Accommodation, etc

I understand your concern Paul, but should this keep growing at this rate I believe all we need to change would be our observing area.. As for the accommodation, there are a lot of alternative accommodations close by the Observing site and should Ballinskelligs accommodations book up quick there is always Valentia and Waterville close by.. Share the wealth I say.
As for Frida and the Skellig Lodge, I will always stay there, purely for its totally relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff..

Sorry Guy's and Gal's, but the twin room is now gone.. Kimberly Ennico Smith and her husband have booked it for the weekend.. Frida has told me that there is 2 beds available in a dorm room, BUT, the bad news is those 2 beds are in my room, so you'll be sharing with me.. Lol
