NEMETODE are organising a workshop on meteors & asteroids on Saturday 21st October at Dunsink Observatory.
It's primarily aimed as a practical workshop for those who either have meteor cameras or are interesting in getting their own.
It will feature a discussion on the equipment along with practical demonstrations of the software.
We're currently finalising the schedule for the event and will post it here shortly.
Regards,
Michael.

I notice there is another meteor-detecting group called UKMON. Would it not make more sense for the 2 teams to pool resources, or maybe that's a long story...

We get on quite well with UKMON and often meet up at BAA events etc. Both groups happened to be founded around the same time independently from each other and sort of grew from there.

Many thanks to Dunsink Observatory for hosting the NEMETODE workshop yesterday. Special thanks are due to Hilary O'Donnell, Jonathan MacKey and Sam Green for all their help in organising this event.
Many thanks to William Stewart for flying over from the UK to speak at the event.
Big thanks also to Mike Foylan for delivering an excellent talk on the scientific contribution which the amateur astronomer can still provide.
Thanks also to Eamon Ansbro for his very good poster presentation.
Finally, many thanks to the IAS for helping host the event and organising the room.
And of course a big thanks to the attendees for making it very a very useful and interactive workshop.
Regards,
Michael.
