With the current situation concerning Covid-19, it is difficult to see the silver lining.  Being sent home from work for the foreseeable future, at least when I go out into the back garden on  those rare clear nights, I won't be thinking about the six o'clock alarm call and can stay out longer.
Sometimes it's the little things that keep you going.
Stay safe everyone.
Paul

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

I agree with you, Paul.
But when are we going to have another clear night?
Thursday maybe.

I bursting to see more doubles and carbons in Cancer the Crab.

Clear skies,

I'm hoping for more clear nights. It's been a very stormy Winter/Spring this year, with a lot of windy nights when it was clear. Not great for a truss Dob!

I was thinking the same today Paul, at least we can reconnect with nature a bit more for a while.

Stay safe.

Keith.

Hi lads,

Pretty grim stuff alright. I can't imagine how the most vulnerable in our society must feel at this point. And you're spot on when you say about looking for a 'silver lining' - whatever that might mean to each individual will be different of course - but for me I'm getting to spend lots more time with my family, and my daughter and I were doing all sorts of astronomy related stuff today.

What's more, during the time I spent at the eyepiece on Sunday night I was oblivious to what was going on in the world. For those couple of hours all was peaceful, and I felt the benefit of it the following day. Something tells me that I'm going to need a whole load of clear nights over the coming months though.

We live in hope,

Darren,
