But I'm sorry I have music to sort out for tomorrow.
I have to go to my church now for quite a number of hours.
Sunday late afternoon I am free.
Who is going up then?
Aubrey.

It was looking a little iffy to begin with, the cloud looking like it would spoil the show. They made their appearance eventually, Jupiter visible to the naked eye first, a little later Saturn was seen. I used my 20x90 binoculars, three of Jupiter's moons were seen, there was no sign of Titan.
There were a good number of people there, I left a little after 5.00. The Wind was strong and it was cold.

Massive congratulations to you both!!
I'll be up at the Sugarloaf for 4 pm on Sunday with the scope and 6 layers of clothing on.
We seem to be promised clear skies again for tomorrow Sunday.
Very best regards from Aubrey.

I observed it at 138X. Through the 9mm eyepiece, which has a 66 degree AFOV, I had both planets in the eyepiece.
Looking forward to seeing them again this evening.
All the best,
Darren.

Nice view of them from the Sugarloaf. Hope you all got a good look. Hopefully talk to you all soon enough. Have a great, clear Christmas and New Year.

Lucky with the weather in Dublin this evening. The conjunction was great, even from my home in the southern suburbs. I took a few shots with a telephoto lens anf the one below is the best of a bad lot. It shows Callisto, Ganymede and Europa very faintly, with the two planets overexposed, though the elliptical shape of Saturn is clear. It's striking that Staurn is not much futher from Jupiter than is Callisto. The forecast for tomorrow is not so promising so it's unlikely that I'll get another shot tomorrow.
Cheers,
Mike
