Suggestions for COSMOS

Hi everyone,
the TAS committee is working on an alternate idea to what some of you have seen already (on the programme) about a Workshop on Sunday morning at COSMOS this year.
We would like to know how those you you attending (and intending to) would feel about a good debating session. It may appear like this e.g. we are all split into groups (of perhaps 6-8 people), where a 'leader' in each will pick a topic from a given list (there are lots of choices), and, basically, you will have plenty of time at your table (with tea and biscuits) to discuss your choosen topic, and later to back it up in front of the rest of us.

For example, by a popluarity vote, your team picks Should we persue long-duration space exploration, or leave it to robotic missions? You have to tell the rest of us why you think we should/should not, and be prepared to be 'examined' by the rest of us.

The best (as voted) will receive a prize, and will have their postulation backed up and distributed in the May issue of Réalta.

It has been noticed in recent years, especially with the IFAS AGM carrying on in the background during the same time, that we all seem to do this already! So, why not incorporate it into something a little more fun? We will all be too tired from the night before to pay attention to a lecture that early on a Sunday, and it wold be a good warm up for lunch, and Bart's final lecture on the weekend.

It sounds like fun but I'll be stuck in the IFAS meeitng so it won't realyl affect me!
