Earth sized planet found was created by John D
An Earth sized planet has been found orbiting Gliese 581 within a habitable range of it. This could harbor life. :o

This is a fairly misleading/confusing article. They described earth massed planets in the first part (which makes you think earth size) and then later clarify it by super earth planets.

I assume then that we still have not got an earth mass exoplanet yet

I read an article that reckoned kuiper and oort belt bodies can have microscopic organic chemistry and bacteria living on them.. they think now all life and metabolism lives in outer solar regions and is constantly falling on planets on meteors anywhere with water has the chance for life to take off. they think now that thats the way the universe works. Water is rare enough, we are very fortunate to have so much and to be able to retain it.

I wonder if the will try and probe the kuiper and oort belts for life. It would be faster than reaching Gilese 581 :-) . . unless we find a less 'flinstone' mode of space flight.

And one theory that they hope the findings of the Stardust spacecraft at Comet Temple 1 will possibly yield results for.
