Trinity College Dublin - Roof-top Observatory was created by philiplardner

Not sure if this is the right place for this...

A notice in the latest issue of Trinity Trust News - TCD opened a new astronomy observatory in Feb of this year. The new teaching observatory contains optical, solar & radio telescopes & is situated on the roof of the Fitzgerald building in TCD…

To be honest, certainly as regards the 11" 'scope, I was surprised at the fairly low spec. An LPI imager is really an entry level piece of kit. But then I guess it depends on the nature of the work being carried out...

I'd also wonder about the light pollution. And the way the pier is mounted to the roof of the building...

But I guess it works.

Didn't see any observatory code for it - that would be easy enough to obtain.

yea, the lpi certainly got my attention....
I suppose the setup is more for training purposes then anything else.
