Hi all,
I've written up a review of the 12" LX200 for our club web site (SAC),
You can find it at

www.geocities.com/shannonsideac/index.html

under the "Reviews" section.
I was as thorough as possible, I hope you find it useful.

Thanks,
Dave L.

Update,
I've updated the scope with the EZ-focus kit, iti mproves the backlash in the focuser and it does seem to be easier and smoother.
I also got the "Bob Knobs" collimation screws, I have to say that I didn't think they would make a differance, but collimation is really much easier now.

On a more serious note, my RA drive siezed reciently, with the help of

www.mapug.com

I was able to find the problem and fix the drive myself, aprocedure which involves the complete stripdown of the the RA section, not for the faint hearted, thankfully it didn't have to go back to the Meade factory.
This website is the best I've seen for Meade scopes, the site is also relevant to Celestron SCTs.

Replied by dave_lillis on topic UPDATE
Hi All,
It's been over 5 years now since I got the Meade LX200, its had its moments, some good and some bad, but overall, it's worked out pretty well.
I've added (through Mike Scully our webmaster) an update to the LX200 review, it includes problems encountered, quirks observed and changes I've made to the scope.

I hope this can be someway useful to everyone with a Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope be it a Celestron or Meade.
