This is worth trying. The star is very bright!

On 2008 Apr 11 UT, the 20 km diameter asteroid (1886) Lowell will occult a 4.8
mag star in the constellation Coma Berenices for observers along a path across
China, Russia, N Europe, UK.

This is 31% chance to observe (from path center)

On 2008 Apr 13 UT, the 40 km diameter asteroid (351) Yrsa will occult a 10.3 mag
star in the constellation Gemini for observers along a path across Europe.

Vagelis,

Thanks for the heads up on those. The 351 Yrsa event certainly looks interesting. The only issue I can see is that at that time the Sun is only 8.5degrees below the horizon. However it should still be possible to view/image this event. I have noted this and intend to make observations if possible.

Regards and Clear Skies,

Dave.

oops! 8.5 deg! this is really difficult.
Maybe you need to have set up the telescope on target the previous night, and you may then have it in your field of view 4 min earlier, etc. etc.
But hey, the star is very close to M35 and 3 deg 40' north of Propus (and 1/2 deg to the east)
Good luck Dave.
