Solar activity increasing was created by JohnMurphy
The following was a mail from Space Weather:

Solar activity is surging. Three large sunspots have materialized and at least one of them harbors energy for strong solar flares. An M2-class eruption on March 25th hurled a coronal mass ejection (CME) into space and emitted radio bursts audible in shortwave receivers on Earth. NOAA forecasters estimate a 50% chance of more M-flares during the next 24 hours.

Get out your PSTs and baader solar filters folks.

Managed to get a view yesterday afternoon and there is major activity on the sun with three distinct spot groups well placed for viewing.

Excellent. It's been ages since there's been any activity on the disc. Must take a look if the clouds part

Thanks for the heads up John.

Got a peek at the Sun this morning through by DS Solarmax40.
3 very nice spots with lots of detail visible.
Best activity on the Sun in a long time.

The sunspots are numbered 987, 988 and 989.

Lets hope we get a big CME as they near the center and hopefully they trigger some auroral activity at our latitude. Well you live in hope anyway, be nice to get the northern lights dancing over Dublin again.
