Comet Yi-Swan in Stellarium was created by mlkcampion
Hey All
Started using Stellarium, for trial at the moment.
I have tried entering the orbital elements for Comet YI-SWAN, at first glance of the chart it looks ok but i've just compared it to another chart on the web and things dont appear to be a 100%.
The following is the data i entered:

[Yi-Swan]
name = C/2009F6
parent = Sun
radius = 100
oblateness = 0.0
halo = true
color = 1.0,1.0,1.0
tex_halo = star16x16.png
tex_map = nomap.png
coord_func = comet_orbit
orbit_TimeAtPericenter = 2454958.952
orbit_PericenterDistance = 1.27427
orbit_Eccentricity = 1.0000
orbit_ArgOfPericenter = 129.799
orbit_AscendingNode = 278.704
orbit_Inclination = 85.748
lighting = false
albedo= 1
sidereal_period = 365.25

I will try to find another chart online but they are hard to find.

Thanks
Mike

I have just the same numbers!

so there is nothing wrong in your Stellarium. Maybe that website isn't right! Which one was it?

I can't find the website but i think i may have looked
at it wrong! At the moment like you said everything is fine. I have added another comet and that agrees with other starcharts.
Is there a kind of "one stop shop" for starcharts of comets or asteroids?

Thanks
Mike
