Lights over Dublin:

Just a idea. Perhaps we could log on to their site and write:
"Save our night skies" on their beams!

Even if not possible a nice thought.

Do www.dublinelevation.net have an e-mail address?
We could tell them what we think.

THe only address I could find on the site is the following so I saw we let loose!

siobhancolgan@dast.gov.ie

To get the ball rolling I sent the following:

Dear Sir/madam,

Polluting our skies is not art but vandalism and I am disgusted that my tax money is being wasted by literally beaming it into space.

Light pollution is a major problem that I would expect my government to be spending money on prevention rather than helping cause the problem.

For more information on the light pollution issue please have a look at www.irishastronomy.org/ilpac/

With 154,000 watts of power, the beams of light will be visible from a distance of 15 kilometres.

Yea... with billions upon billions of wats of power the stars should be visible in the night sky...

I'll be sending a couple of letters to:
