Follow the Dark Skies Symposium Online! was created by albertw
But for those who cannot make it we have several ways for you to virtually keep up with the conference.
We will be broadcasting live video from the conference live online at www.ustream.tv/ilpac/schedule This is the first time this has been done for a European Symposium so we hope many of you will tune in. The talks will also be recorded so you can watch them later. In
addition to the main symposium we will be broadcasting the public lectures on Wednesday and Thursday evenings also (starting 19:00 IST).
IDA Board Member and European Liaison Officer Friedel Pas will also be hosting a virtual conference in 'Second Life'. Full details on how to participate can be found at
www.lightpollution2009.eu/index.php?view=article&id=76
Since these online interactive sessions will be live they will follow the symposium schedule at
www.lightpollution2009.eu/index.php?view=article&id=75 Though please note that the times are in Irish Summer Time (UTC/GMT +1 hour).
Lastly Steve Owens will be giving updates via Twitter just follow @astronomy2009uk at twitter.com/astronomy2009uk
Best Wishes,
~Albert

I had also hoped to attend, but we're hosting the International Conference of National Trusts this week and I'm afraid I'm already worringly over-committed.
Anyway, good luck with your symposium. I'm sure it will be a success.
Cheers,

Both of Leo's talks were well attended with about 100 people at each in Dublin and Armagh.
For those that missed it (and the live broadcast!) we have it recorded here.

Tune in to see why my laptop now smells of Guinness!
You can follow the rest of the symposium at www.ustream.tv/channel/9th-european-symp...ion-of-the-night-sky from about 9.30 am tomorrow (Friday) morning.

Well, the pieces have to stream in real time first, and be saved once finished, then compressed and made easy to download. I'd say Albert will do this.

Its a pity they dont have an audience mic, you cant hear the questions asked!

Just move the slider; though as Seanie says it takes a while to stream. We got the audience mic sorted out for some of the later sessions.
Hectic weekend! 3 well attended public lectures, nearly 100 registered delegates, nearly 40 talks, about 20 secondary school students, 30 or so primary students, music and dance, slasa lessons(!), two dinners, excursions to Beaghmore (we saw a couple of stars!), Observatory and the Planetarium, 2 live talks over skype/phone, parallel education workshops, live online video, live conference in second life. I think all involved need a good rest!
Thanks to those of you who managed to make it up to join us!
