Hello, everyone.

On Friday evening 13th July, my skies were clear.
So I set up my William Optics 158 mm f/7 apochromatic refractor in my back garden.
Seeing was not all that good. Sometimes we just have to put up with the conditions.
Even at 167X, Venus was shimmering very noticeably.
Soon I was onto Jupiter. All 4 moons were quite easy to see at 40X along with both equatorial belts.
Ganymede was very close to the south eastern limb of Jupiter.
But at about 9.10 local time, in went my 112X eyepiece and there it was -the Great Red Spot.
It is my first time to observe it in 2018.
I also used 140X and 167X on it.
Then I tried to figure out its colour at the higher magnification.
And by my reckoning it is reddish -brown.
Do any of you agree?
At this moment I'm just relieved I saw it.

Good observing to you all,
