Just an update on craters, so far to-date for 2018, on the Moon that have received official names:

Hawke: 66.61S, 128.65E, 13.2km (approved 16 March 2018)
Yerkes V: 15.24N, 50.93E, 3.7km (approved 23 Aug 2018)
Donner M: 32.17S, 97.96E, 8.0km (approved 28 Aug 2018)

Hawke is on the farside, so obviously not viewable from Earth, Yerkes V - given suitable lighting conditions (and perhaps a good libration as a bonus) is viewable, while Donner M is on the extreme limb (and would definitely require a good/great libration).

Good luck in viewing.

When will the late Sir Patrick get a crater named for him?

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Don't know about the idiots...but as far as a 'Patrick Moore' crater being named on the Moon's surface...it is, in the hands of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) gods....open

We have a 'Moore' already, so it's a 'Patrick' we should expect....fingers crossed :)
