Clear skies - 27/11/22

www.met.ie are promising clear skies yet again on Sunday night. 
Every Sunday night seems to be clear lately.

Hello everyone. 

I managed to get a very tight separation of the double star DA 2 on Sunday night the 27th November 2022 with my William Optics 158mm f/7 apochromatic refractor from my back garden. . 
DA does indeed stand for William Rutter Dawes who lived from 1799 to 1868. He was a pastor of an independent church in London. 

Getting back to our double star, DA 2 is an uncertain double with magnitudes: C = 7.2. D = 9.1. Sep = 1.3". PA = 214 degrees. I couldn't get a split on the previous Sunday night 20th November. 
But tonight I had success!
I did my very best to figure out the position angle of 214 degrees beforehand. 
Observing with my 3.5mm Nagler (320x) and 3mm Radian (374x) I had the most narrow of black gaps between the 2 stars. Seeing conditions were okay, and both stars appeared white.

Apologies for the delay coming back to you. It was a busy week in work, added to that I was sick for a couple of days...the joys.

Very well done on splitting those tight doubles...once again that Nagler does the business.
