I went out for a small bit of observing and saw a few perseids, one particularily bright mag 0 going through Ophiuchus, We could be in for a good one this year if we have clear skies next weekend. :)

I seen a mag 0 at about 11.30...was setting up my camera so just missed it. Finished observing now and from were I'm situated a reckon I seen approx 1 every 3 -4 minutes (not all Perseids) from 12 to 1am. Seemed to slow up then.
I had a fisheye lens on my camera but the exposure times were all 'guesstimates' and as my camera's not digital I'll have to excitedly wait and see.
Dew started getting better of lens so callin it a night.
Will scan in and post any reasonable shots when I get them back from developing.

I went out observing for about a half hour from 23:20hrs last night (11th). Managed to drag Dee out with me - she wasn't disappointed in the end! Lots of meteor activity, and the sky was fantastic. So clear, many naked eye objects were plainly visible, and its not even winter when we should have been seeing skies like last night.

Perseids all over the place, a few blazing here and there, lots of trails left. They were all centrally located to the Persed radiant, but some came into the atmosphere into Ursa Major, Cygnus, and Andromeda.

I went to bed happy!

Hey guys

Well my sky cleared at about 21.30 but I didnt go outside to around 22.15, by that time it was getting dark so I sat myself down and within a minute was treated to the longest meteor ive ever seen, well over 50* in length.
I sat up to about 0100 then went to bed as I have to be up early for work.
In total I seen 41 meteors my largest count to date.
Some were faint and small but some like the first one I seen and number 21 were very long and bright.
All in all a good count.

Best I could do was stick my head out the bedroom windows for half an hour after 2 AM and I was really impressed! Saw loads of faint ones and a good 5-10 bright ones with nice trails. Not bad for observing from Bed!

overcast in Dublin City (must be all those negative vibes going up in the air?) but Al and myself took a chance and headed out to Cloon Wood (who says Cloon is dead? :) ) -- we weren't disappointed!

initially cloudy but then cleared beautifully from about 11:30 onwards with only a 5-minute overcast spell. Left to head home at 2am.

lots of deep sky work and plenty of meteors. To be honest we didn't keep a count as it's been a while, hasn't it, since we've had decent skies for a meteor shower. It was a case of sit back and enjoy the show.

good number of meteors left trains. Surprising number of "orange" satellites passing over . . . must be how they were reflecting sunlight (or the light pollution from Dublin :) )

besides the Perseids you've got a minor shower, the Kappa Cygnids, active at the moment too so maybe the odd one gets classed as a Perseid. More info on Gary Kronk's comet and meteor shower web site at comets.amsmeteors.org/meteors/showers/kappa_cygnids.html -- well worth clicking through his site.
