Was out in the back garden at about 9 o'clock tonight taking some long exposure shots. So while I was waiting, I was staring up into the sky. Then I just saw these two things heading north to south pretty much overhead in a straight line. I presumed they were just bats, though they were very very strange looking.
A few minutes later looking towards the western horizon, I saw a bunch of three, with another one slightly out of the group again heading north to south.
Another few minutes later I saw a single one heading south to north, for as much of the sky that I could see. This one in particular did not look like a bat. It was heading at a good speed, in a perfect straight line with no sort of motion that you would expect from something flapping wings. There were no lights on any of them and they were all kind of brown/grey in colour. They weren't smoke trails from meteros. The second group in particular with the three and one looked like a bunch of jets formation flying.
Has anyone any idea what the hell I saw?
