Possible Fireball Sighting @ 17:53hrs was created by Seanie_Morris

Hello all,

a friend of mine, David rang me a few minutes ago, saying he might have seena fireball. Did anyone else see it?

Details:
He was travelling from Carragh Cross to Naas, heading southerly. He says he saw it enter the sky etc, looked like it was pretty close (thus it was big). I asked him, as he was looking at Venus, what direction was it. He said "if Venus is at 12 o'clock, then this went from the 9 o'clock point accross to the 3 o'clock point in rapid bright line, about the distance of a fist from Venus, at about 5:53pm"...

Not great I know! Amateurs! (wait, that includes all of US! :P )

Anyone else happen to see it?

Brighter than venus Travelling roughly NW about 5deg off zenith. Was bright white but seemed to turn green just before vanishing. Dont know if it's the same one. I was in Ballinteer in Dublin Roughly heading North and saw it out the windscreen at about that time
