Tonights Observing was created by martinastro
Clear trans sky, periodic overcast conditions, showers, cold gusts of wind were on the menu during this observing session. Despite the waxing gibbous moon i attempted to track down C/2005 E2 Mc Naught however clouds always seemed to be passing through the comets location >:(..the 8" and i got drenched in the process until the comet set.

I did some general observing at 49X...M31, 32, 110, 44, 39, 81, 82, 108, 97, 76, 42, 43, 78, NGC404, NGC1999 and Saturn as well as a few binary systems..Delta Cephei, Mu Cephei (Herschels Garnet star-variable), Alcor + Mizar, Gamma Arietis. Seen one nice mag 3.0 red meteor slowly drop into the eastern sky through Hydra. Also took a few images....

Moon shot taken with camera only (no Scope). Not very good but i thought i would share it anyway..

Orion...

Saturn + M44...

A compact Lunar Corona...

Very nice images there martin! I love the moon shot! I was also out as the sky was lovely and clear! Took many shots of the moon with camera and telescope! I'll post em later as the battery is dead! I decided to try the orion nebula! I Caught the red/pink next to one of the stars!

Have to agree- really like the moon shot. It's got a lovely 3d quality thanks to lots of black space and we rarely see the moon at this magnification. Could do with a little sharpening IMHO.
You should crop the orion picture to clear the chimney pot out of the way too.

Good work!
