What was that was created by dacelonid

Hi All,
Was out observing last night. Was looking at the Pleides and something fast moved left to right in the FOV and was just wondering if anyone knew what it was. It wasn't as bright as the stars in the Pleides and it moved across my FOV in about half a second.

Am new to this astronomy stuff, so directions and that are not my strong point especially while looking through an eyepiece. I have a Newtonian Reflector and it moved left to right, so is that left to right literally or reversed.
Either way it came from the direction of the moon and moved towards Mars. That is the best description I can give.

Any thoughts, or any advice on how I can explain properly how the directions invloved.

Just remembed that the time might help, and guess what can't remember the time. I suppose it was about 9pm Local Time, but can't say for sure.
oh well, guess ya can ignore this post now.
Mental note to self, remember to write down the time :D

I sounds to me like a telescopic meteor! :D

Dace,
depending on how fast you saw it (don't forget, your field of view through any telescope is going to be small), I reckon either a satelite or meteor is what you saw. I have spotted both quite a few times just zoom across my field of view. Sometimes I would see a satelite cross my field of view in the telescope (I'd know it was a satelite due to its relativey slow movement), and I would be able to follow/track it, but when I tried to see it with the naked eye, no luck!

I saw something i though was a metorit last night, i managed to track it with the scope, so it didnt move fast. Seen it before, but they usally fade away fast, so maybe it was a satelite?

This was when i was aligning the scope to Alioth
