Laser Collimators?

Hey Guys,
Have any of you got much experience with laser collimators? Is there one you could specifically recommend? I knocked out the collimation of my
10" LX200GPS putting in the bobs knobs, and I've failed to get it back as good as it was before I started.
There's many a clear night passing me by and I want to get this solved.

Advice to anyone thinking of installing bobs knobs - dont unless you have to adjust your collimation from factory setting - I just installed mine for the sake of it, I never had to adjust it before that, even after worldwide shipping!

Hi Seamus,
Standard laser collimators are not suited to SCTs.
Kendrick do a laser collimator for SCTs but its quite expensive.

To be honest, you're better off trying to meet someone in one of the clubs near you who is experianced in collimation, once you get the hang of it its fairly easy to do, but there is a nack to it.
I spent ages collimating my scope when I got it first, it drove me around the twist

The guy from telescope house told me that laser collimators are only for rough alignment, and that you will have to colimate on a star anyway, so I would be inclined to say save your money. I bought one and managed to completely cock up my scope with it because it wasn't mounted absolutely straight in the focusser (hence the conversation with telescope house). Subsequent very careful recollimation with the laser has got it back to near factory settings, but I need to do a little tweaking.
BTW, mine is a laser dream collimator from telescope house.
