Seems there is a new Registax on the way. Check this out. There's a huge difference in this guy's images between the two.

Looks like a big improvement. The direct link to the comparison can be found here .

Now all I need is one of those digital cameras people keep raving about to take nice pictures of the sun to compare with! ;)

Impressive difference, but there appears to be a strange artifact - streaks or rays most evident in the top left quadrant of the image. They are also present in the old image but less obvious. I wonder what the cause of these is?

I've been using 3.01.23 for some time now - Is the .83 version that much different? I thought the last two digits of the versioning was just for bug fixes and minor fixes?

Hi John,

It looks like the main new feature is giving the user the ability to select multiple alignment areas, rather than a single one.

You're right though, that's an odd version number if new features are added.
