program for finding stars was created by Equinox
I need to find something where I can input the RA and DEC of a star and then find its position in the sky. I've been using starry night pro, but it doesn't know the name of the ones I'm looking for and I still can't find anything using the celestial grid. Basically I need to use the Faulkes telescope in Hawaii as part of my final year project and I'm trying to figure out if certain variable stars are visible from that location.

Don't know if this will workfor you but you could try Winstars 2. i find it very good and you can enter in the RA and DEC and it will bring you there (not literally of course!). it can be found at
www.winstars.net/english/
. You'll need broadband to download it as it's fairly large, or I can post it to you on CD if you'd like, just pm me your address.
To input the RA and DEC, just click on "Observation" on the main toolbar and select "Look in a direction".
