IRC anyone?

Hi,

Anyone interested in joining an IRC channel for irish astronomy?

I've started #irishastronomy on the Undernet Network ( www.undernet.org ) so drop in if youre interested.

IRC, Internet Relay Chat, is basically a chatroom type thing, more info from www.undernet.org .
This is probably only of interest to folks who spend the day online!

Somtimes you get interesting messages when you leave yourself logged in to IRC overnight:

--> ENOLA (hdkfjdk@uk.tiscali.com) has joined #irishastronomy
<ENOLA> Are you just an amature ASTRONOMER?
<ENOLA> Why don't you answer ?
<ENOLA> I do not belong to the IRA so I am not going to SHOOT you
<ENOLA> Please yourself

i might give this a try i assume the server is eu.undernet.org ? as there is an irishastronomy channel here. i have used irc before so it took me a while to figure this out.

yep. Though its only active when someone stars it. I hadnt bothered logging in as there didnt seem to any interest, well apart from people not wanting to SHOOT me
