hello,

programming is also one of my interests

I always had in mind for a small program showing when comets are visible on my sky, if the moon doens't dirsturb too much, but also if the comet doesn't stand close to a known deepsky object.

And here it is, a Java Applet. Fully made with the free Sun Java Netbeans 6.7, a very good IDE!

Here you have a screenshot:

With changing the time, you see on a small sky chart:
- some stars
- planets
- sun
- moon (phase is also mentioned)
- comet

and it will be alerted if comet is close to a known deepsky object

;) for new comets appearing on our skies, I shall adjust the applet.

this is the url for launching the applet:

david.
