Another Cone & Christmas Tree was created by Kinch
I searched AstroBin - picked a subject that I had not shot before & used the plate solve info to set up my scope. Something went wrong - I did not intend to shoot the Cone & Christmas Tree again. But once started (when the first sub came in) I decided just to run it for a couple of hours. This was taken on the 11th March. This is the penultimate shot without 'flats' (I have another image to process without flats)....after that I hope that I can improve some by taking the time to do things 'right'

This is the last shot processed without flats (referred to in my earlier post here). Spent some time on it last night - worth putting up - but don't look too closely

Great shot of M51 -the whirlpool galaxy, Kinch.

Just wondering -where are you located? You must have zero light pollution.

Thanks Aubrey.

Far from it with regard to light pollution. The scope and camera are located in SE Spain but with city lights to the east and a medium sized town town to the west I tend to look for targets to the south or north - but also being in a housing estate I just cant get away from the light pollution. (This target was high enough to get reasonable conditions). You may notice most of my images are in narrow band - my best defense against the light :-) .... from here in I think you will see a lot more narrow band from me......and just the odd RGB to have a bit of variety.

Thank you, Kinch, for that. Narrowband really does work alright.

I do especially like the little distant galaxy in the top right corner. I wonder what designation is he?

Last weekend in Athlone, Co. Roscommon, I had the privilege of observing M 65 and M 66 side by side in my telescope without imaging -thanks to negligent light pollution.

Aubrey.
