Moon - early hours 11th June 2019 was created by Kinch

Since it has been on topic lately.....but my effort is for a completely different reason. I am testing/practising with a new small planetary camera and my 'small' FS60Q scope.

The full resolution image is on my web site or on Flickr @

This is not a normal target or procedure for me - but happy to continue in this vane to see if I can progress to doing some planet images....way down the line :-)

At long last -a lunar image from Kinch!
And it's only brilliant.
It is very much identical to what I was observing on Monday night.

Thank you, Kinch.

Next you will be doing double stars!!

Ha ha Aubrey. I was only getting to know a new set-up so it is not anything to write home about......Having said that, I am quite pleased with it and look forward to improving what I can do with that rather small camera. I have an old 8" Meade here.....who knows, it might find its way onto that some night. I really have to do Jupiter or Saturn before my batteries run down for good!
As for double stars....I do them all the time....but most especially after a double whiskey!   :-)
In truth they are really not an 'imager's' thing.....but quite exciting in the eyepiece I am sure.

Very windy where I am tonight and by Saturday night, I will be miles away from any telescope that I know of.......roll on longer nights in Autumn & Winter. I hope that it will prove to bea productive season but I fear that cloudy nights are more & more common all over Europe....if not the world!
